As an avocation I've practiced JKA Karate since 1963 and taught since 1966. 1 started Taiji Quan in 1985 and taught since 1990. I earned a second degree in the Japan Karate Association in 1981 and am a Sifu (teacher) in William C C Chen's school of Tai Chi Chuan. I retired in 1989 from teaching civil engineering after twenty six years. Teaching more than anything has been my occupation. Teaching Martial Arts has been a particular pleasure and it was my luck to study with some of the best.
Joseph Castillo,

Teruyuki Okazaki of the International Shotokan Karate Federation after the death of Joe Castillo visited Mohawk Valley Community College twice, and then sent Instructors from headquarters in Philadelphia to hold workshops and examinations for many years. We are now independent of the ISKF.
